RXDriv3r Posted June 3, 2007 CID Share Posted June 3, 2007 Ok my cousin's computer when you turn it on it does the memory test but then just hangs there...doesnt load up Windows XP or anything....Hes left it on for hours and nothing.....anyone know what this might be? just- Posted June 3, 2007 CID Share Posted June 3, 2007 it is reading you RAM memory now when it boots up u know u can hit F2 or some special key to go into bios can you GO into bios ? if you can go into bios but it does not find WINDOWS it seems like it is a HD to be sure u can go into the bios and check to see if it has detected a hard disk (really depends on the bios for this) so can u get into the bios? Swimmer Posted June 4, 2007 CID Share Posted June 4, 2007 I would agree with a hardware failure or some other hardware issue. If it is passing the memory test the it is looking for a boot device. Try downloading a Linux live-cd and see id you place that into the cd rom drive if the computer will boot. I guess a Windows xd would also work just as well. Did you heard any type of clicking sounds when you turned the computer on?
