coknuck Posted September 23, 2007 CID Share Posted September 23, 2007 This is the AMD version. I have the intel version and I idle at 26c and 37c full load. The price is right and it out sells the others. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductReview.aspx?Item=N82E16835185125
RTB Posted September 23, 2007 CID Share Posted September 23, 2007 Some of those reviews are so ignorant it's no longer worth it to even look at them for fun. Go for true reviews and ignore Newegg comments. The Zalman is a good cooler, but too expensive for how good it cools. You only really need to replace the original cooler if it's too noisy, it'll handle the new CPU in terms of heat dissipation just fine. And the one coknuck posted is a known good performer. starship_troopers Posted September 23, 2007 Author CID Share Posted September 23, 2007 that looks nice. but my case is "inverted" so that the psu is at the bottom with the 140mm fan on it facing up to my cpu and gfx card. which is why i have 3x 120mm fans and a side air vent.and heatsinks on my ram modules. my only concern is that its facing something to send the hot air from the cpu to another component other than the exhaust fan. but i will def. keep that one in mind thanks coknuck

coknuck Posted September 23, 2007 CID Share Posted September 23, 2007 I can tell you this my CPU fan is so quiet you can't hear it run. If you didn't look at the blades turning you would think it wasn't running.

If you didn't look at the blades turning you would think it wasn't running. crazy. thats how my stock cooler is on my current single core athlon 2.4ghz but with the order through newegg for the 5600+ im just using the stock cooler for the time. and i'll see if i need a new one. honestly the reason i wanted to order them all at once is because im not 18 so i can't legally order anything. so i give my mom money for the stuff and she orders it. but i convinced her to let me order a heatsink if i needed it. so im good. but i hope i dont have to order one now. because then i'll have to clean the paste off of my cpu then put new on and its a pain. but thanks for your answers i have that cpu cooler you mentioned (coknuck) bookmarked. so if i need a cooler i'll buy that one.
