VanBuren Posted February 8, 2005 CID Share Posted February 8, 2005 yea, now you get what you pay for with 1492 KB test, you just need little lag and score is off, with 2992 KB test its not affected that much, give a more accurate reading VanBuren
risky Posted February 8, 2005 Author CID Share Posted February 8, 2005 I want what I pay for though, I WANT MY DAMN 4/512 DAMNIT............... just kidding, im pretty satified now, im considering the upgrade package though, but not sure for an extra $15 for 5/768 is worth it? I see some users through cox that have the same package as me but get higher scores, does that just depend on my location? No complaining though, thanks alot VB for all your help! VanBuren Posted February 8, 2005 CID Share Posted February 8, 2005 there will always be someone faster you can tweak it even more and get more burst speed, but that can cause other problems you now get 96 % of advertised speed down, add 10 % TCP overhead and you are above the cap VanBuren
risky Posted February 8, 2005 Author CID Share Posted February 8, 2005 In the LAN properties options, Is the File and Printer sharing necessary for p2p and is QoS (Quality of Service Schedualer) required for anything important? just- Posted February 8, 2005 CID Share Posted February 8, 2005 what does the QoS actually give to the isp or to your line Van? i know the QoS is very important in voice over ip to maintain a good stream meaning good quality of sound but what other advantages does it bring
