It does this by sending data between your computer and this remote NDT server. These tests will determine: The slowest link in the end-to-end path (Dial-up modem to 10 Gbps Ethernet/OC-192) The Ethernet duplex setting (full or half); If congestion is limiting end-to-end throughput. It can also identify 2 serious error conditions: Duplex Mismatch Excessive packet loss due to faulty cables. A test takes about 20 seconds. VanBuren Hello, VanBuren and thanks for the welcome. Yes, I do have XP SP2 installed. I'll probably keep trying different settings just for the fun of it. I put a few bucks in the collection plate in appreciation for your hard work. Thanks to everyone on this forum. If I keep coming here, I'm liable to learn something and that could be dangerous. Claernce Posted February 10, 2005 Author CID Share Posted February 10, 2005 VanBuren, I changed back to the T3 settings and ZOOM. Under the previous settings, the download progress bar would halt briefly several times before completion. With the T3 settings, the progress bar goes so fast that if you aren't paying attention, you'll miss it. It scrolls across witout halting from beginning to end. A sight to see.
