mummer43 Posted February 9, 2005 CID Share Posted February 9, 2005 I just got a Lite-On SOHW-1633S DVD/RW drive. I plan on using it in conjunction with my TV tuner card to record tv shows and then burn them to a re-writable disc to then watch on my DVD player. Can anyone recommend a good, high quality DVD/RW disc?
Swimmer Posted February 9, 2005 CID Share Posted February 9, 2005 TDK I have used them and my friends swear by them.. High quality! I am not sure that a DVD player is going to be able to read a DVD-RW

bamafamily Posted February 9, 2005 CID Share Posted February 9, 2005 Hey All, Best place to check the compatibility of your DVD player is here: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers As for media, I use this as it rated very high and the price has come down significantly I realize it is only 4X, but that is the type burner I have http://www.supermediastore.com/prodisc-4x-dvdr-silver-inkjet-printable-100-free-ground-shipping.html As for the rewritables, I bought a 20pk of 2.4x DVD-RW Optodiscs. and they still work fine http://www.supermediastore.com/optodiscfeatured.html I am on my 4th DVD player and that is because this one plays DIVX and Xvid. That is the format that most TV shows are in when you download them off the newsgroups http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000204SWE/qid=1107982308/sr=8-1/ref=pd_csp_1/102-7381141-6312935?v=glance&s=electronics&n=507846 Hope this helps Mark bamafamily
