trickyrick Posted March 25, 2008 CID Share Posted March 25, 2008 Hi Guys I have a version of DD-WRT installed on my linksys router. I purchased another linksys router instead of downloading DD-WRT can I backup the version I have installed and use the restore on the second router. Does the second router have to be the same version as the router that the backup is coming from Thanks Rick
mudmanc4 Posted March 25, 2008 CID Share Posted March 25, 2008 I dont see why not, as long as the new router is the same version as first one.
trickyrick Posted March 25, 2008 Author CID Share Posted March 25, 2008 Thanks I will give it a try tonight they are both version 5. I purchased the router with DD-WRT on it and have read that there is alot of problems trying to flash a ver 5. I was hoping to avoid that with the backup and restore Rick
mudmanc4 Posted March 25, 2008 CID Share Posted March 25, 2008 Look into flashing vx / killer first, to avoid issues.
Fasstboy Posted January 12, 2009 CID Share Posted January 12, 2009 Just curious how it went flashing your version 5? I just flashed my v8.2 with the micro binary to great success. (I had not ever done it before...besides upgrading basic o'l proprietary software... as my roommates had already done it and i just enjoyed the bliss
