ninjageek Posted July 31, 2008 CID Share Posted July 31, 2008 Any one else ever use nlite to make your own custom xp install?? It took some time, trial and effort but I finally figured out not only how to use it, but to make my own nlite add ons. So the second question is, would anyone want a guide on how to use it? I think making the nlite add ons was the hardest to figure out. That is til if found a free program that makes it super simple. I did find a video of making your own nlite addon but got stuck about half way through and never could figure out the rest of it. No sound to the video just watching someone make one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFhpDJLTGKQ About the 1:22 mark when the error box shows up I have no clue what to do next. I tried just closing and hitting yes, and hitting no and even cancle but could never duplicate what is shown in the video. My notepad remained blank. Roco Posted August 2, 2008 CID Share Posted August 2, 2008 Hmmm, I just use a SP3 slipstreamed into Xp pro bootable disk and choose what I need or don't need in XP , it works as as a upgrade without loosing files , and also as a clean install without sp1 or sp2 installed , OK it is not totaly unatended , but how often do you need to do a reinstall ?,
