ice Posted March 21, 2004 CID Share Posted March 21, 2004 Downstream is good, upstream just plain sucks for T1.
MICROWAVE Posted March 21, 2004 CID Share Posted March 21, 2004 yeah, that is not screamingbut I could live with that...Its not an unusual upload speed for a t1~~~~ but I get lot of disagreement on how important upload really is....not very for me. Swimmer Posted March 21, 2004 CID Share Posted March 21, 2004 I am suprised about the T1 score. I believe that T1 is a symetrical media. Meaning that the upstream and downstream should be the same.... Is your work hosting a webserver off the same connection??
MICROWAVE Posted March 21, 2004 CID Share Posted March 21, 2004 Swimmer, You are correct about the T1 except when I was installing Ti ckts, the ckt had to be built the way you are referring to.Basically a T1 is a ckt that has 28 channels which can be used for voice or data.....now the fun part if a customer is willing to pay the extra $$$$ to the phone C.O. the ckt can be built to those specs.generally people go the cheaper route. The new voice over IP has changed alot of this stuff and, I haven't seen the inside of a phone room or "data center" for a little longer than 2 years....Of course I really miss my interaction with "qwest" or "us West" or whatever they are calling themselves this week...........
