this is not a service you pay for, so dont expect instant messages to all your posts.....

i cant see testmy.net in that pathping

try this linequality test instead

hey i figured out the prob, FINALLY...

turns out the cablenut settings were  the ones slowing me down, i was using the 3000/384 one (which is my advertised connection). so i just cleared all boxes and put tcp optimizer on optimized. Can i still make connection faster? i have no cablenut settings anymore, just tcp optimizer on optimized

:::.. Download Stats ..:::

Connection is:: 1447 Kbps about 1.4 Mbps (tested with 1013 kB)

Download Speed is:: 177 kB/s

Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/

Test Time:: Mon Mar 21 18:38:19 EST 2005

Bottom Line:: 26X faster than 56K 1MB download in 5.79 sec

Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 72.9 % of your hosts average (rogers.com)

it still used to be faster thought.

can i still make it faster?

thanks

you have a 2% loss to your IP#, thats not a good thing even if its acceptable, aslong as you can get the speed

but you dont seem to get that, so try this and if this dosent help, call your ISP

bypass your router and connect your pc direct to modem, set your NIC to 10 Mbps half duplex

quoute from http://dslnuts.com/tips_tricks.shtml

"Windows 2000 or XP: to change to half-duplex:

* Open Control Panel.

* Double-click Network and Dial-up Connections.

* Identify the icon for your cable modem connection: usually Local Area Connection.

* Right-click that icon and select Properties.

* Under the ethernet adapter icon, click the button Configure.

* Click the tab Advanced to bring it to the front:

* In the Property box, the property name to be selected varies according to model of ethernet card. Examples are: Network Link Selection, Media Type, Connection Type, Duplex Mode, or any similarly-named property which can have Values looking like Auto-Negotiation, or 10BT, or 10BaseT.

* In the Value box, select a value which either (a) explicitly says half-duplex or semi-duplex, or (B) at least does not say full-duplex [e.g. 10BaseT on its own is OK]. If there is a choice between 10 and 100 with half-duplex, choose the 10. Do not choose 10Base5, 10Base2, or AUI.

* Click OK to exit the Adapter settings.

* Click OK to exit the Connection properties. "

Thanks,

it used to be fast when i had the 3000/384 tweak, but slowly it got slower, i only have tcp optimizer. What do u think i should do? or to delete every tweak  i have?

i would delete all tweaks and call my ISP and demand them to fix it

To use TCP Optimizer, i suggest you first open cablenut and click delete cablenut tweaks and click save to registry

now you can open TCP Optimizer and apply the tweaks
