Brodskyj Posted August 5, 2021 CID Share Posted August 5, 2021 Hi All, I'm new here but i'm surprised by my test results. I tried this out for 2 reasons and the results shocked me. 1. working from home Zoom/Teams video calls were constantly breaking up and freezing 2. gaming on my ps5 was lagging and i was constantly dying by people moving so fast i couldnt see them. My results: Minimum :: 66.25 Mbps | Middle :: 120.07 Mbps | Maximum :: 201.06 Mbps Ran testing on 5 minute intervals for 500 tests or 42 hours. So if I'm getting a minimum of 66.25Mbps and usually higher then why am i having the problems above? Is the test working properly for the complex or large data i'm using? Thanks for your input guys. xs1 Posted August 23, 2021 CID Share Posted August 23, 2021 Personally I've come to find many ISPs and even Cell providers, route data differently depending on the service. Speed tests are raw data. No "throttle" per say. Zoom, YouTube, twitter, tiktok, etc. "Streaming data" seemingly has vastly different results. I've noticed throughout my own research, that raw data, like speed tests will max the connection, than ill go to tiktok, & videos will buffer. This is more-so noticed in my cellular usage.... I have a gigabit connection here @ home so I really dont notice much slow down on regular cruising TBH. I would get a replacement router/ modem. Also wouldn't hurt to have your ISP check your splitters & line noise.
