REH Posted March 29, 2005 CID Share Posted March 29, 2005 what are the advertised speeds of the aol broadband and would anyone here recommend it ? Thx AOL does not offer broadband service, they only offer dial up service. You can get AOL Broadband if you are with a different ISP for your broadband connection, then just running AOL over the connection you have. It's just a way for AOL to make more money. -REH

netmasta Posted March 29, 2005 CID Share Posted March 29, 2005 so basically it will do what for the connection and what exactly are they trying to offer on the site Here is how it works. You subscribe to a broadband ISP (e.g.:Comcast, Verizon, etc.) then for another $14.95/mo you get AOL's BYOA (Bring Your Own Access). Basically what it allows you to do is use AOL's "Features (e.g.: AOL, e-mail, message boards and the AOL software) over broadband. It's a waste of money IMO. But if you absolutely can't live without AOL and high speeds, than go ahead and buy it.
