Tristan9669 Posted April 13, 2005 CID Share Posted April 13, 2005 As you all know comcast is having some dns server issues, I changed my dns server to 4.2.2.1 and now everything works great. But I have one question, is there a way to plug to dns server into the router and so all the computers on the lan uses it? Or do I just have to go to each computer and change it through XP in Internet Protocal TCP/IP Properties?
brock01 Posted April 13, 2005 CID Share Posted April 13, 2005 you can do that, go to your router page and change it, i think they call it static dns, good luck

Comcast allows static IP??
netmasta Posted April 13, 2005 CID Share Posted April 13, 2005 You shouldnt have to. I just changed the DNS on my router and it's working fine. As far as I know you don't have to use Comcast's DNS servers. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y82/netmasta/dnschange2.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y82/netmasta/dnschange1.jpg
