I'm a Road Runner customer thinking about switching to FIOS...

Recommended Posts

I have a couple of questions for the board. I'm an online gamer and I've had zero problems with my Road Runner, but when Verizon can offer me 15mbps for the same price as my 5mbps Road Runner, I need to look in to it. I play Madden and Socom II on my PS2, I play Halo 2 on my Xbox and other different PC games. I didn't have to do anything special with my RR to play these games online.

Will I have to do anything special with FIOS to play these games online or will I just be able to plug everything in and get online as easy as I did with RR?

Has anyone had any problems playing games online with FIOS?

I'd appreciate any feedback.

The 15 mb wont help you at all gaming.. the increase upload may get you a few server's with lower ping times, but other then that having a faster connection wont help gaming at all.

Unless of course you are the host.

it'll be a bit nicer for hosting certain games.. probably not PS2 games.. but to answer your actual question- you should have no problems whatsoever unless FIOS is blocking more ports than i originally was told.

side note: GO FOR IT DUDE!!!
