REH Posted April 16, 2005 CID Share Posted April 16, 2005 Hey guys, I don't have a video card installed, just using onboard, and I don't do any gaming, the closest that I get to that is playing Nitto1320Challenge, and when I do that, I have like a 70% CPU usage, and I wondered if a Video card would drop that down any? Thanks
xs1 Posted April 16, 2005 CID Share Posted April 16, 2005 yes it will. having an integrated card means its using a minimal amount of ram. Which is like a bottleneck on the highway. You add a better vid card ( even a pci one, their cheap...replace w / the dialup modem if needed ) is like opening another lane or 2 on the highway. More memory and vid card speed, the less strain will be on the system.
peepnklown Posted April 17, 2005 CID Share Posted April 17, 2005 Integrated Video Cards share system RAM and your CPU is used to process most of the video. A Video Card has its own RAM and has a GPU to take most of the load away from the CPU.
