cak46 Posted May 4, 2005 CID Share Posted May 4, 2005 Would there be a way to delineate (maybe by self-reporting by a check-off) what type of line speed the tester is using? This way, the different results could be broken down not only by Provider, but by line speed for that provider, giving the tester a more accurate view of their speed vs. others with the same line speeds (The averages used in comparison). just- Posted June 7, 2005 CID Share Posted June 7, 2005 that would be something major i think its a good idea but it would not work always well speed test doesnt work always but i see what u mean if some one was on a comcast.com and his line would be like 3.5 it would say you are on the comcast 4Mb plan if the score like 5.8 it would say you are in the 6MB package that would involve a database will all the existing packages for each isp and a random estimate would be some not very hard coding i would belive but the database maintenance would be major big time
