VanBuren Posted May 14, 2005 CID Share Posted May 14, 2005 spitzzz you need to keep in mind that the browser speedmeter dosent calculate accurate the first seconds. when you click on a link and it ask you where to save it, the browser has already started downloading the file to a temorary folder on your hardrive. So when the transfer begun the speedmeter will calculate from the amount of downloaded bytes/ in the time from when you clicked ok. so the 1st second, you probl has already downloaded 1 MB and that will show 1MB/s, so when testing the speed with browsers, you need to download a large file ( 30 MB+ ) and wait for it to complete, then make a screenshot of the average speed for the transfer.
