Storm311 Posted January 25, 2007 CID Share Posted January 25, 2007 Yeah, when you change your speeds you do need to do that. Should have asked me. Got this one after more changes...
tommie gorman Posted January 25, 2007 CID Share Posted January 25, 2007 Yep, it never hurts to play till you got it where you want it. I haven't messed with mine since I reformatted last summer.
Storm311 Posted January 25, 2007 CID Share Posted January 25, 2007 I just started tonight..think thats the best i'll get..these changes actually change the speed or just the numbers on my computer?
tommie gorman Posted January 25, 2007 CID Share Posted January 25, 2007 It is supposed to change the registry. "As with SpeedGuides TCPOptimizer this simple makes a few changes to your registry." All I know is it smooths things out for better speeds if needed. Also remember the fill effects will not fully kick in for 3 days. Most of it right now though. So by Sat. morning it shoud be a bit faster.

icg1032 Posted January 25, 2007 CID Share Posted January 25, 2007 Hey Tommie, why do you say it takes at least 3 days for the full effects to kick in? Just curious that's all. :::.. tommie gorman Posted January 26, 2007 CID Share Posted January 26, 2007 Experience. Many have said this. Now some might not notice the difference 2 or 3 %, a few days will make. Others have noticed 10-15% difference. The settings sort of settle in. Like a sponge, it will take on water, but it will take a few minutes to fully soften up when it is totally dried up. I got on the higher 10-15% myself, when mine sped up. Each might be different.

tommie gorman Posted January 27, 2007 CID Share Posted January 27, 2007 Ok, no other test site rates me above 13 Megs...how do I know which one is REALLY accurate lol, i don't know which one to trust They have explained it before, it gets pretty technical. But believe me when I say it has been challenged by others often. And TMN wins out very time so far. TMN has the most accurate on the net so far bar none. Part of it is the type of test done here. Notice you have to do a few things different than at other sites. See there icg1032, yours likes the much larger one. Some do. My little one likes the 2992 files test. Very nice speeds there. tommie gorman Posted February 1, 2007 CID Share Posted February 1, 2007 Cold in Chicago. Brrrr. I always thought Chicago was a cold town anyway. But I was just dropping some friends off at the airport from the airforce base. And then I got lost once. Grrrr. The dual test will give you slower results like the smart test.
