Orignal_Cronicus Posted May 31, 2005 CID Share Posted May 31, 2005 got a basic modem/linksys router setup running 2 pc's curretnly Need help seting up a shared folder on my network, need to backup stuf of 1 pc to the other so i cna reformat it i already sent a 8 GB file through msn from pc to pc in about 15 minuts"rofl the network usage was at 49%" but the last file 2GB wont send at top speed instead it wants to send it through the msn svrs at my upload speed"1% networkusage"<- why is this so how u set up a shared folder on my network with winxp? php Posted May 31, 2005 CID Share Posted May 31, 2005 Right click the folder, click sharing and security, check the share this folder on the network box, change the share name if desired, and I would recommend checking the Allow network users to change my files box. click ok and reboot as for using the msn servers, something must be preventing msn from letting you connect directly...
