ice Posted August 14, 2004 CID Share Posted August 14, 2004 There probably isn't much more speed lying around. What are your caps? If you are on a 4mb/s line, that is about as good as it will get. If you are on a higher cap, then let me know.
wicked1981 Posted September 9, 2004 CID Share Posted September 9, 2004 Yeah I have Adelphia too and was wondering if it could get any faster well at least my upload. I play some X-box games live and need upload download not that important to me.. This is whats advertised with the package I have. Any tweaks or anything I can do? Premier High-Speed Internet addresses these types of internet usage with download speeds of up to 4 Mbps, and upload speeds of up to 512 Kbps. My upload Your connection is: 549 Kbps (about 0.5 Mbps) You uploaded at: 67 KB/s Your TRuSPEED
CA3LE Posted September 9, 2004 CID Share Posted September 9, 2004 Looks like you are getting what you pay for ~~ Does Adelphia in your area offer 5Mbps / 768 Kbps package yet? ~~ If so you should be able to upgrade for about 15/month ~~ maybe if you game enough it would be worth it to you. Any tweaks that we would tell you would involve windows... your XBOX may run slower than what you are getting with your PC.

So far this is the highest package available I pay $99.01 including cable so Im not sure if I would pay more thats why I was looking to tweak it if it was possible. I usually get ove 5mb download when I do my test here but the upload is just plain weak!! So I guess if tweaks dont help im sol but thanks for the info. Guess its not bad but hey for 70 bucks a month I would like some more. The only reason I want upload is for x-box download is more than enough but I would like to get to the 700 area.. Guess I will have to wait?
Swimmer Posted September 10, 2004 CID Share Posted September 10, 2004 624 is more than enought to do just about anything... Xbox should be able to run fairly big games depending on what game it is... I think you should be able to run a 16 player halo game with no problems..
RTB Posted September 10, 2004 CID Share Posted September 10, 2004 Guess its not bad but hey for 70 bucks a month My dad pays 50 euros, and I get that. I've even got a 12 Kbps score once, that was really rediculous.

Swimmer Posted September 10, 2004 CID Share Posted September 10, 2004 it might not be you... it could be the lag on the other end..
BOA_ELF Posted September 10, 2004 CID Share Posted September 10, 2004 I think there is something else going on as far as GR because with my stats of 355KB upload I can do a 16 players you might see if you video card is causing the problems and when hosting it will only run as fast as the slowest connection

With the live stuff it is connecting to servers then back to the xbox.. with xbconnect.. you are connecting directly to the other xboxes.. Swimmer Posted September 11, 2004 CID Share Posted September 11, 2004 thats the one.. it is a nice little utility.. you are going to need a router or dual nic setup for it to work.. I would suggest placing your computer in the DMZ when you connect.. otherwise your connection might get canned..
