Darngoodnut Posted June 10, 2005 CID Share Posted June 10, 2005 Hello to all the great folks out there in the forum land. I have a question about running the Download test. I have Adelphia Premier, I run XP Pro, My scores are good now, I was struggling up until yesterday when Adephia online chat tech help solve my problem ( OMG Any how every since I started getting good speeds on the download I have experience about 50% of the time of the test downloading twice before giving me the results. When it does this the 1st run through looks like it is super fast (by the bargragh)and the 2nd run looks terrible slow, but the results are about what I should be getting. Just curious if this is normal as it never happened when I was creeping on the Download. Does anyone know why and if it is something I am doing please let me know. :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 6249 Kbps about 6.2 Mbps (tested with 5983 kB) Download Speed is:: 763 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2) Test Time:: Fri Jun 10 07:57:30 EDT 2005 Bottom Line:: 112X faster than 56K 1MB download in 1.34 sec Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 101.71 % faster than the average for host (adelphia.net) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-MW8NU61JP It ran through twice when I got this score. php Posted June 10, 2005 CID Share Posted June 10, 2005 Thats because the file you chose was too small, so the server redirected you to a larger file size
FallowEarth Posted June 10, 2005 CID Share Posted June 10, 2005 When you choose SmarTest, it starts with a small file, then picks a bigger one if it figures your connection can handle it. It will provide more accurate results, so no worries!
Darngoodnut Posted June 10, 2005 Author CID Share Posted June 10, 2005 Thanks php and FallowEarth, that makes since and I never notice the file size in the results until you mentioned it.
