xs1 Posted June 16, 2005 CID Share Posted June 16, 2005 NVMCP.SYS BSOD Temp Fix To Everyone, A quick fix for the BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) or shut down and restart randomly when playing Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 on motherboards that have the nforce 2 chipset is as follows. 1. Right Click on "My Computer" on your desktop or start menu and scroll down to "Properties" in the menu and click it. 2. Click on the "Hardware" Tab 3. Click on the "Device Manager" button 4. Click the plus sign next to "Sound, video and game controllers" 5. Right click on the "NVIDIA® nForce Audio Codec Interface" or the audio interface for NVIDIA that contains the driver "NVMCP.SYS" and scroll down to "Disable" and click it 6. Click "Yes" on the warning that pops up. This will disable your sound in windows and in the game. So when you are done playing be sure you go back and re-enable it when you are done playing. I know that this is not the best thing in the world but it is a fix that has worked for me and many others so that we can enjoy the game. I just hope that a real fix for the problem is developed very soon. If this does not help you with the issue please follow up to this message and I will see what I can do to help you find a solution. __________________ Michael Popa Webmaster - ataricommunity.com Different game, but maywanna give it a try...
