technoia Posted June 28, 2005 CID Share Posted June 28, 2005 Hi, this is my first post in testmy.net, just wanted to get some help/suggestions on my connection: I just recently upgraded to the Yahoo Dsl pro package: Advertised Speed: 1.5 - 3.0 mbps down / 384 kbps up Actual Speed: :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 1644 Kbps about 1.6 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB) Download Speed is:: 201 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2) Test Time:: Mon Jun 27 19:35:01 PDT 2005 Bottom Line:: 29X faster than 56K 1MB download in 5.09 sec Diagnosis: 90% + Okay : running at 99.64 % of your hosts average (pacbell.net) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-AV97TIQLC :::.. Upload Stats ..::: Connection is:: 229 Kbps about 0.2 Mbps (tested with 97 kB) Upload Speed is:: 28 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2) Test Time:: Mon Jun 27 19:36:50 PDT 2005 Bottom Line:: 4X faster than 56K 1MB upload in 36.57 sec Diagnosis: 90% + Okay : running at 95.82 % of your hosts average (pacbell.net) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-BJRHWI1FU Before upgrading i was getting a consistent 1.2 mbps and now i am getting 1.6 mbps after the upgrade, which only seems like a miniscule upgrade considering that i am very close to my dsl substation. Could there be a possibility that my dsl is capped? I am on Winxp SP2, Trend PC-cillin Antivirus, 2wire modem, ethernet. thanks in advance. technoia
