CA3LE Posted November 22, 2003 CID Share Posted November 22, 2003 damn for reals... me too... Mine is like that at work too. By the way everyone, it says "download stats" but that is actually an upload score (I just mistyped when writing the script) ~~~ I can tell from the auth code ~~~ I'm going to fix that. - Damon

CA3LE Posted December 3, 2003 CID Share Posted December 3, 2003 Nothing you can really do if your provider sucks man... your in NY right ~~ just try getting another provider ~~ look at some forums online and see what people in NY on aldelphia are getting... if everyone is saying the same thing... you can't fix your problem
Bad Ass M 5 Posted December 5, 2003 CID Share Posted December 5, 2003 Been awhile since I posted a speed test result, still the same, little slower tonight. Great site Damon, keep up the hard work. Guest adelphiasuks Posted December 5, 2003 CID Share Posted December 5, 2003 Yes im in NY , my upload has been horrible forever, I need something for gaming theres a company that gurantees 384 up and 384 down on DSL is that ideal for gaming? BTW very good website
CA3LE Posted December 5, 2003 CID Share Posted December 5, 2003 I personally would just keep what you have... you will be more happy. Unless you are hosting a game server your connection should be awesome. Counter-Strike for instance won't ever use more than 5-8 Kb/s ever ~~ and there is no multi-player game that I know of that will chomp down even a limping cable connection. I myself only get about 30 Kb/s (~256kbps) upload... and whenever I game I usually have one of the best pings in the server and my gaming experience is awesome. Don't jump to conclusions about your connection though, DSL will cost you more... and trust me you won't be as happy with it. (and I am not just saying this because I am a sales person for a Cable Company ) Post your download score and I will tell you if you should worry about anything. Thank you for your compliment by the way... many hours of typing code to get this perfected - Damon Mueller
Guest adelphiasuks Posted December 5, 2003 CID Share Posted December 5, 2003 1516/214 kbps 1210/179 kbps 3274/224 kbps 3056/210 kbps 2056/205 kbps 1675/214 kbps 3266/214 kbps 3343/232 kbps 2081/193 kbps 2046/164 kbps 866/100 kbps 2809/217 kbps 2791/220 kbps 3702/200 kbps 1404/84 kbps 566/96 kbps 1788/136 kbps 1452/126 kbps 2878/235 kbps 2919/232 kbps The speeds may look good, this is over the last 2 days, but 2 considerable things are not shown, #1 Ive spent roughly 30 hours the last month in a half with the techs that were trying to say my problem was on my end either me using a router or something with my hardware, when i finally got a tech out here they realized i wasnt migrated like they said i was, Also doing a ping test from my comp directly to adelphia.com i have anywhere from 10 percent packet loss at times up to 50 percent . Normally around 8 packets sent 4 lost. On bigger pings it s about 35 % loss, They have aknowledged its on their end but have no timetable on when it will be fixed, The only person who has evry helped with the issue was a tier 3 tech, I have been told ill never get to speak with one again (its like they r movie stars in this area because they r the only ones that actually help you, So im stuck lagging away while i deal with tier one techs that have no information that can help but plenty of advice on how to clear temp files and dont use a router, sorry for the long post but they are the worst company i have evry seen . CA3LE Posted December 5, 2003 CID Share Posted December 5, 2003 Well in that case, yea DSL will fix that packet loss... but your download speeds will be cut by 1/4-1/8 ~~ sounds to me like the problem is from the modem out ~~ not from the computer to the modem. Aldelphia needs to get off thier butts and fix your stuff man... ask them for a service credit for the time they relaxed and made you suffer by the way ~~ they will give it to you as long as you keep on top of them. - Damon
