destructionfever Posted July 18, 2005 CID Share Posted July 18, 2005 If verizon dsl isn't available in my area...but you could get it if you lived 10 minutes away from me. Then when fios is available here in Pittsburgh. Will verizon expand it's dsl borders into my area? I just figure they will because dsl is so limited that when fios hits this are they could broaden their horizons. Thanks all!

FiosFiend Posted July 18, 2005 CID Share Posted July 18, 2005 I don't work for Verizon so this is just my opinion. From what I've been reading Verizon is putting all (most) of their money into building out their fiber optics network. I seriously doubt that they are going to put any more money into expanding dsl coverage when they know that eventually they want fiber everywhere. For your sake I hope I'm wrong but I don't think I am.

ajb62787 Posted July 19, 2005 CID Share Posted July 19, 2005 It should be anytime within the next 1-2 years . Verizon is currently testing out lines in the Mid-Atlantic States at this time.
tbaker397 Posted July 19, 2005 CID Share Posted July 19, 2005 I doubt 1-2 years in all of pittsburgh.... its not that big but, how hard would it be to wire an apartment building for fios, there would be like hundreds of ONT's.
