HERO Posted July 20, 2005 Author CID Share Posted July 20, 2005 i have a billion bipac-5100 and the ppl at adam reckon i dont need a adsl 2+ modem, they think it wouldn't make a difference
tbaker397 Posted July 20, 2005 CID Share Posted July 20, 2005 if you have an ADSL 1 modem, i don't think its built to handle the speeds of ADSL 2+ hence the numbers 1 and 2. Try upgrading the modem and if you only pull 600kb/s on a server close to you, i highly doubt you have 24,000 download throughput.

MYRIAGON Posted July 20, 2005 CID Share Posted July 20, 2005 As I said above "Looks like you need an updated modem" If what you say is that the new speed for your service is 24Mbps Down, and the modem you have now only supports 8Mbps. product information The BIPAC-5100 complies with ADSL standards for worldwide deployment and supports downstream rates of up to 8Mbps and upstream rates of up to 1Mbps. It is designed for small office, home office and residential users, enabling high-speed Internet connections. Powered by NAT technology, dozens of network users can surf on the Internet and share the ADSL connection simultaneously by using one ISP account and one IP address.
