reno Posted July 23, 2005 CID Share Posted July 23, 2005 Okay I have a linksys wrt54g it had the standard firmware in it so I went to the site and got the newest one. I started to upgrade hte firmware it upgraded so I thought, the router went to restart and now the power light is flashing and the DMZ light flashes once in awhile as well. I tryed the reset button but that did nothing. Is is messed?

reno Posted July 23, 2005 Author CID Share Posted July 23, 2005 Does that mean its dead?
richcornucopia Posted July 23, 2005 CID Share Posted July 23, 2005 Try unplugging the router for like 30 seconds, plug it in again and see if the lights are normal. Check the router page to see if the firmware is at an updated version, if it is good. If not, then maybe you should try updating your firmware to an older one, ie: newer than the one you have, but older than the one you tried before. (1.2 instead of 1.3)
REV0LUTI0NIZED Posted July 23, 2005 CID Share Posted July 23, 2005 Does that mean its dead? I don't know, it just seems that It got confused during the firmware update or something. Like I said it happend to me and it wouldnt factory restore itself. I even tryed installing it again but nothing worked.

reno Posted July 23, 2005 Author CID Share Posted July 23, 2005 Haha okay here is how you do it, go to there site and use the firmware upgade as an .exe, I had to set my IP as the routers would be because it wouldn't do it on its own. Swimmer Posted August 1, 2005 CID Share Posted August 1, 2005 it is because of failed hardware.. http://linksys.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/linksys.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=175&p_created=1084205858&p_sid=*2T_CTLh&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9NTkmcF9wcm9kcz0xLDIwLDAmcF9jYXRzPSZwX3B2PTIuMjA7My51MCZwX2N2PSZwX3NlYXJjaF90eXBlPWFuc3dlcnMuc2VhcmNoX25sJnBfc2NmX2xhbmc9MSZwX3BHz2U9MSZwX3NlYXJjaF90ZXh0PXBvd2VyIGxpZ2h0&p_li=&p_topview=1 that should take care of this issue.. This is why you upgrade firmware via ethernet connections only!!!!
