organ_shifter Posted July 23, 2005 CID Share Posted July 23, 2005 Judging from your scores, I'd say that you received the upgrade. 4000/384 = 6000/384 6000/768 = 8000/768 Upgrades are scheduled to begin in various areas by the end of this month and are to be completed by the end of summer. MYRIAGON Posted July 23, 2005 CID Share Posted July 23, 2005 Not sure if this is what's happening to your connection, but I found this at the Comcast forums. Some of you may already be seeing these new speeds but no markets have officially announced the upgrades are complete yet. Some of these upgrades will be pushed to portions of a market at a time so some may see it before we announce it here. Other areas may be doing testing in some areas first so there may be a chance you see the speed upgrade for a short time and then return to the normal speeds until the market officially upgrades. netmasta Posted July 23, 2005 CID Share Posted July 23, 2005 I think it's official in MA now, because they have been advertising that Comcast is now faster.

MYRIAGON Posted July 23, 2005 CID Share Posted July 23, 2005 Still havnt decided to make the upload faster for anyone? A bit greedy company? Ya... Yep...they are so damn paranoid that someone will run a server on the network if they give out anymore upstream.
jsbollin Posted August 9, 2005 CID Share Posted August 9, 2005 according to the comcast.net forums you will receive an email if your area is due for an upgrade. caution though...you need to stay on top of it. when the new "upgraded 6mb tier became available I had to call them several times to get them to "open up" my modem for the higher speed. Keep running speed tests and call them on the phone vs the chat thing. i made a tech stay on the line with me for 30 minutes until I received the new upgrade (I also got a refund for 4 days of service )

I live in MA where the upgrade is officially complete, and never got an e-maol.
