organ_shifter Posted July 25, 2005 CID Share Posted July 25, 2005 Hot on the heels of Google Earth, MSN continues to play catch up with MSN Virtual Earth, a rival planet-browsing product aimed at geographically curious surfers the world over. MSN's product is at this early stage very different from Google, offering only US and Canada-based locations, as well as fewer locations and attractions. On the other hand, it's a browser app that does not require a separate download (scary to some people), and its MSN Spaces integrations are bound to turn it into a blogging crowd pleaser in the long run. The battle of the giants continues, and it keeps blessing us with cool toys, services and applications: by all means, fight on! Dark_Matter Posted July 27, 2005 CID Share Posted July 27, 2005 M$ can't stand it when someone has something they don't so they create it. How funny is it the google does google earth now MSN does this? I'd say it's not an accident.
netmasta Posted July 27, 2005 CID Share Posted July 27, 2005 (sadly) to M$'s defense, they already had a online mapping service before Google. Terra Server USA. I don't think it's related to terraserver.com
