My ISP advertises 1Mbit upload and 5Mbit download. Here is what I'm getting:

:::.. Upload Stats ..:::

Connection is: 490 Kbps about 0.5 Mbps (tested with 1013 KB)

Upload Speed is: 60 KB/s

Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/

Bottom Line: 9 times faster than 56K you can upload 1MB in 17.07 second(s)

Validation Link :: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=M415IAIXC

:::.. Download Stats ..:::

Connection is:: 4494 Kbps about 4.5 Mbps (tested with 2992 KB)

Download Speed is:: 549 KB/s

Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/

Bottom Line:: 80 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 1.87 second(s)

Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=DAPTPKMNM

I got over 5000Kbps download once but whatever.

I wan't to know if there is a way to get my 1Mbit upload.

EDIT: Oops wrong forum.. sorry :oops:

Could someone move this?

Awesome speeds even if your uplaod isn't what you want.

I don't have my admin powers yet. Once I'm at Queen status, I get my Pimpette title, then I can move things around.

If there is anything you can do to help your upload speeds, the people on this site will help you. I'm just not one of them...... :cry:

:) KableKid,

Have you also checked and rechecked for spyware???? its a very common problem with slowing down your connection,and Im not sure if you said you had a higher speed before??? Im not sure how much you know about computers,but there is more to a faster speed than just the connection.......for instance how many things are running at start up???Look in msconfig to see!!

I'm the type of person who goes over to my friends and fix their computer with like 400 infected files plus a shitload of spyware. The next week they have it all back again. :roll:

I don't have any viruses or spyware. I (used) to run my own radiostation (www.radioactivefm.com server 2, down until further notice). I ran a few game servers, I ran/run my own chat boards (many in the past and the one at radioactivefm.com). I built my computer from my dads 'old' parts. When you look at my system you can only imagine what he's got. My dad has a bunch of sertifications like MCSE, A++, CNA etc. He owns/co-owns 3 computer companies.

Hope I answered your question :D

Oh, and I make Unreal and UT Mods in my sleep XD

:) KableKid,

Sorry I had you confused with another person :oops: when I went back and saw your download speed I realized my mistake......I would say you don't have a problem!!!there is nothing slowing you down on your end, your ISP is either limiting your upload or its possible there is a lot of traffic. Or a bandwidth robber in your area.....lol.....when my friend had a similar issue someone was over amping and got caught,(so the tech said) although I wouldnt be surprised if their position is that everything is within specs...(but I dont think getting half of what I pay for as within specs)My approach would be to put the problem back on your ISP and see what they say....lets us know what happens please:)
