i just installed SuSE and i still cant get on the internet... its not detecting my onboard 10/100 Ethernet card where can i get linux version of the drivers?

i just relax and see how things work for you TriRan before i try this  :haha:

I also got rid of XP Pro, im now on Win ME, cos my slow pc runs better with it even if the internet speed suffer abit :(

what brand is the network card? Check the manufactors homepage and see if they got Linux drivers.

VanBuren :)

that's odd, linux usually detects network better then windows, even though i dislike linux, i remember installing it and it detected and used all my hardware without the need for me installing any extra drivers

yeah your a rare case usualy linux is like bam everything is ready to go.....

heh well it is ready to go and it probably has the drivers for the card it just aint detecting it.. although im running it fine on windows.. btw there is no linux dist of my MB Drivers

no way dude if windows dectects im sure linux would too linux is REALLY good about LAN its pretty much all LAN based as far as intenret goes

does it just not let you on the internet? i remember when i was on if you use DSL they have a PPOE settings setup utility, you need to complete, but if you use LAN or cable it should be auto-matic

i am useing DSL with PPoE and it was auto my friend

if thats the right driver for your LAN it will, i've heard that NVIDIA cards actually run better on linux because the driver is VERY VERY good.

duhh its linux

better driver for a better OS lol  :haha:

i still ahve to use windwos for my ipod tho  :icon_pale:

his is only temp tho there porting to unix i hear

my mp3 player worked perfectly on linux, thats because apple sucks i guess, (YES apple does suck) and wndows OWNS - linux is ok some times, but i think windows is better for daily use

eh windows is ok and lnxu is my favorite apple does suck and they stole unix theres no reason why it cant be on linux
