netmasta Posted August 23, 2005 CID Share Posted August 23, 2005 I've heard about devices that you can buy that have a VCR and DVD-R built into the same unit for one touch (sort of) transfering. I personally haven't any experiance with them.
monsnet2k8 Posted August 23, 2005 CID Share Posted August 23, 2005 If you have a MINI DV or Digital 8 Camcorder and have a FIREWIRE video card on your computer you can transfer VHS video to a computer by connecting your RCA cables coming from your VCR to the Camcorder or using the cam's own Digital to RCA cable... this type of connection will make the VHS transfer completely digital ("AVI" ) instead of MPEG 2 format' Then edit with NERO or record as is and then burn.......... The only bad thing is it is still analog to digital no matter what you do!! once the transfer has been made and the format changes its completely digital' ofcourse the quality of the original VHS will not be improved dramatically but its no longer Analog'
