REV0LUTI0NIZED Posted August 23, 2005 CID Share Posted August 23, 2005 I just got a new D-Link DI-624M Router. Before I had a Linksys WRT54G which sucked I always had issues with it and the Manufactory Restore button would never work, this one was my 3rd Linksys Router and with all 3 I also had issues. So I finally decided to get a D-Link and I been getting better speeds than the Linksys and also the ping doesn't fluctuate that much when I have 3 computers on, with the Linksys it did fluctuate a lot. I'm glad I got a D-Link Router! :::.. raptors892004 Posted August 25, 2005 CID Share Posted August 25, 2005 I got an SMC router and it works pretty good too.. Didn't have any problems with it, but I may get Dlink one day too
Swimmer Posted August 25, 2005 CID Share Posted August 25, 2005 Good to hear.. I am a huge fan of dlink... never really tired linksys after fixing so many of them or replacing them with dlink.. I am also not all that impressed by netgear.. I have a travel router.. which is nice but a pain in the ass to configure if you want more than one client. This has just about everything that you could ever need on one router.. QoS that is made for gaming.. 5dbi antenna.. 10/100/1000 4 port switch... Nos7667 Posted August 26, 2005 CID Share Posted August 26, 2005 I have a netgear router because it was cheep. I suffer no speed loss when using it. I actually get faster speeds.
Swimmer Posted August 28, 2005 CID Share Posted August 28, 2005 I got to fight with a netgear again tonight.. those things loose their minds.. For some reason it wouldnt allow clients to connect.. I didnt do the install.. so I dont know what was done as far as configuration... but when all of the setting look correct.. so instead out comes the paper clip and time for the hard reset.. 20 min later.. the system is working.. Netgear just seems to be very picky about everything.. I also hate their web based client...
