tbaker397 Posted August 24, 2005 CID Share Posted August 24, 2005 Hey swodie how ya doin? Welcome to testmy.net! Make sure to tell your friends about the site here! I assume they eventually will, heres my prediction on the upload upgrades using the current DOCSIS technology and infrastructure: the 6/384 plan will be upped to 6/512 or 6/768, but i dont think any higher than 768 and i doubt it will get that high in the near future the 8/768 plan will go to 8/1 at the highest im guessing, but I wouldnt be surprised if it was 8/896. None of that is official but giving on how stingy Cable Co's are with the upload, I would assume that those would be fairly decent guesses. resopalrabotnick Posted August 25, 2005 CID Share Posted August 25, 2005 the biggest factor in limiting the upstream is the fact that the cable co's and telcos for that matter don't want you hosting on a connection that has no payperbyte. if you get a connection with a high ul, you will get a contract with a volume plan. Thisismyname Posted August 27, 2005 CID Share Posted August 27, 2005 Official Comcast representative has said we should be looking at a speed of upgrades in the next round which should be maybe next spring? I don't know. No date was specified but he said on the next round the upload was going to be increased. Don't expect something like 3Mbps on upload but maybe 768Kbps-1Mbps on the lower tier and something a little higher on the gold tier.
