dlewis23 Posted September 20, 2005 CID Share Posted September 20, 2005 thats so wrong theres no personal information stored on those cards. all it is a security # that the door reader reads to confirm that you are at the right room.
Swimmer Posted September 20, 2005 Author CID Share Posted September 20, 2005 you would think that.. but i guess hotel like to store more than just a security # on your keycard.. Maybe they are tracking you also.. seeing when you come in late.. if you use the weight rooms.. that kinda stuff.. kinda wierd..
netmasta Posted September 20, 2005 CID Share Posted September 20, 2005 http://www.snopes.com/crime/warnings/hotelkey.asp Snopes.com says it isn't true, but it could happen. I didn't read the whol thing, but it seems most hotels have a serial number encoded on the key which acts as your "info". They also change the door combination every time a new guest stays there, so finding a key won't do any good.
