you would think that.. but i guess hotel like to store more than just a security # on your keycard..  Maybe they are tracking you also.. seeing when you come in late.. if you use the weight rooms..  that kinda stuff.. kinda wierd..

Snopes.com says it isn't true, but it could happen. I didn't read the whol thing, but it seems most hotels have a serial number encoded on the key which acts as your "info". They also change the door combination every time a new guest stays there, so finding a key won't do any good.

Yeah i read some of the comments on slashdot and that was one of the first ones posted.. It seems to be a real source.. http://www3.ca.com/customersuccesses/Details.aspx?CID=68091 there is the dude talking about a spyware solution..  Intersting to say the least..
