osva Posted February 15, 2006 CID Share Posted February 15, 2006 whats funny is tha latency. With Adelphia resolved, it was above 100 ms, but without it is like local routers of onelink in 30's ms. They are the same. 30's for Florida, and 60's for DC. They always been like that.
jordi Posted February 15, 2006 CID Share Posted February 15, 2006 Have any more people called Onelinkpr about the information disclosed by jordi? Can anyone else confirm Onelinkprs official statement about the transition process is related to bad negotiation between Onelinkpr and whoever they wanted to do business with before their attention was shifted towards Sprint? I believe he was refering to "bad faith" on Adelphia's part when negotiations for the sale/purchase were going on... The decision on Sprint appears to be taken after that, which sounds logical if they were having protracted negotiations. What is NOT logical is that contracting for the backbone should have taken place at the same time they were making the sale/purchase deal which is when you have the leverage of negotiating...... AND they should have had some kind of direct public relations plan with the service users so this did not explode on their faces. But NOOOO it is a lot better to silently keep taking our good money and finance the "transition" with that instead of pumping in THEIR money if they wanted to make the investment of buying Adelphia......Like the guy that goes hunting, shoots the other hunter with a shotgun in the heart and face and keeps quiet about the whole thing..... jordi Posted February 15, 2006 CID Share Posted February 15, 2006 jordi , thanks a lot for this insight / inspiring post . *feels proud on calling and pestering onelink* It does feel good, although I would rather not have the need to call because the service is the way it is supposed to be... Pestering adelphia-one is about the only release we have being stuck in this "transition" BS and they get this because their "plan" did not include their customers. have found that I get more satisfaction if I do not go in with the hammer but with the silk glove, you can get a lot more info that way and if you ask the correct question you can feel this guys weasling their way out of a concrete answer and running for shelter

sucredi Posted February 16, 2006 CID Share Posted February 16, 2006 the graph results indicate the severe lag starts during the evening. why? because there are more people using the Intenret in their homes after they get in from work or whatnot. In addition to the problems caused by the Onelinkpr bandwidth capping, this causes lag noticeable by users with a sharp eye - noticing the drop in speed at those hours. obviously Onelinkpr is the culprit, and not the Adelphia routers as some people keep suggesting. do a tracert; you'll notice that Onelinkpr servers are having extreme packet loss, and causing speed problems for Onelinkpr' s clients. this in addition to Onelinkpr's bandwidth capping is severely affecting Onelinkpr's overall Internet service. resopalrabotnick Posted February 17, 2006 Author CID Share Posted February 17, 2006 gaming latencies doesn't have to mean capping. can be just crappy slow routing.
antoniwan Posted February 18, 2006 CID Share Posted February 18, 2006 gaming latencies doesn't have to mean capping. can be just crappy slow routing. can be, could be. could be poor routing. assuming that the routers are dumb. (RIP or IGRP protocols are usually used on these outer-layer routers) or could be capping. could be, could could could. who knows?
postvertigo Posted February 18, 2006 CID Share Posted February 18, 2006 packetloss w. onelink, not adelphia. check image please. yes, they are capping the gaming bandwidth too in order to allow all onelinkpr clients to navigate the internet only.
