biker9075 Posted October 9, 2005 CID Share Posted October 9, 2005 When I used to use Verizon I had to actually connect to the internet (PPPOE), but recently I forgot to do that but it still worked. So my question is, did Verizon do away with the whole PPPOE thing

6arett Posted October 9, 2005 CID Share Posted October 9, 2005 who would want to stimulate a dial-up connection? i thoguht the whole point for dsl/cable was to be connected 24/7 with nice speeds.
VznPro Posted October 11, 2005 CID Share Posted October 11, 2005 It acutally depends on where in PA you are ... some areas are PPPoE some are DHCP.
REV0LUTI0NIZED Posted October 11, 2005 CID Share Posted October 11, 2005 It acutally depends on where in PA you are ... some areas are PPPoE some are DHCP. True, I would like to get stuck with DHCP if I had DSL.
monte389 Posted March 11, 2007 CID Share Posted March 11, 2007 how come I have to pay for different speeds. when T1 first came out you paid a higher price BECAUSE these are dedicated lines and these lines have to be installed, your hardware determined how much data you could handle, some modems could only handle 40KB,some would handle 56KB,and so on.. how come we are being charged different prices for different speeds our hardware should be determining our SPEEDS not the phone companies they are so busy placing devices on the lines to slow access down so they can charge us different prices..also known as diodes..
