junkieXL Posted October 15, 2005 CID Share Posted October 15, 2005 You can make over 200 subnets (may be wrong on the #) on any LAN simply using low-cost hubs or switches. ghostmaster Posted October 15, 2005 CID Share Posted October 15, 2005 Never use Hubs. You will need 2 NICS and routing software, perhaps even setting up a Linux machine as your routing computer. You cannot create subnets with just a switch, you must have something acting as a router to seperate broadcast domains.(subnets) The number of subnets you want depends on what class of IP you run.
