Newbie (help With Modem)

Hi,

I had Time Warner Cable here in SC and I just dumped the cable TV part and switch to Dishnetwork(sweet).I kept my RR cable service but needed to get my modem switched out and it slow sometimes on the upload but the DL is faster than I ever had .I can't find any markings on it except a this model # 60678eu .Can anyone tell who makes this and if it's any good or should I switch it out again. Avertised speeds here are not real clear but I think its 5megs down & 380 up  $45.00 a month. I have it going thru a dlink router which I can get the info if needed .

It's made by Ambit....and yep, its a fine modem.

Quick tip:  If you have access to the MAC address (should be on a sticker on that modem somewhere), you can use the prefix (the first half, XX-XX-XX) and pop it into the field HERE to find the vendor.

wow, great info ambit, how did you know the manufacturer just from the model number...?
