jkandra Posted November 8, 2005 CID Share Posted November 8, 2005 Welcome to the site 0m3rta. Not really. You should get a little bit more. About what time are you testing your speed? It could be that you are testing at prime time. When did you get it installed? You might have a ground problem. That might be creating a static.problem to be slowing thing down . There are other people that have DWay 6000 in here that can help out. I have a DWay 4000, so I can't help much.
0m3rta Posted November 8, 2005 Author CID Share Posted November 8, 2005 Thanks for the welcome. I ran that test at about 1:30pm CST. My installation was done about a month ago. It was moved from another location where I was getting horrid speeds. Since the move it has picked up quite a bit and the stability is a little bit better. I've thought about calling my installer out but I wanted to check my speeds against other DW users first. I don't guess I should really complain though. It is a TON faster than our old dial up here. We were averaging a connection speed of about 9600bps with actual download speeds of about 3kbs.
Bird Fan Posted November 9, 2005 CID Share Posted November 9, 2005 That's not bad, I get around .8 meg during that time of day. Try a test at like 2 A.M. and see what you get (or you can try early in the morning). So sloooooooow tonight: :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 574 Kbps about 0.6 Mbps (tested with 1496 kB) Download Speed is:: 70 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2) Test Time:: Tue, 08 Nov 2005 19:44:34 GMT-0500 Bottom Line:: 10X faster than 56K 1MB download in 14.63 sec Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 68.25 % of your hosts average (direcpc.com) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-XEB7ZK46A
jonnydabney Posted November 9, 2005 CID Share Posted November 9, 2005 hello everyone, I check my download speed in the mornings and it is around 18-20 faster than dial up, but in the evening is only about 3-4 times faster. I test it about everyday, and is always fast in the mornings. I have DW6000 had it for a few months, very happy with it.

jkandra Posted November 9, 2005 CID Share Posted November 9, 2005 Sorry Aggr3. I read it but it didn't register in my head. I was in a hurry to get out of the house to go to Cleveland OH to pick up my grand daughter. I live in Kentucky 4hr drive. Iam glad that I didn't upgrade then.
