wyantm06 Posted November 10, 2005 CID Share Posted November 10, 2005 Anyone know if that's the IP I need to enable my DMZ for my PS2? I can't connect to anyone barely and I was wondering how to find my PS2 IP out or what IP do I use for this?

resopalrabotnick Posted November 10, 2005 CID Share Posted November 10, 2005 of course he's on a router, where else would he want to enable the dmz for his ps2? on his toaster? see if the routers config page gives you a list of ip's currently assigned by it, that will then show the ps2's along with all the others. Dilatedpeoples28 Posted November 10, 2005 CID Share Posted November 10, 2005 on ur router web page go to the DHCP list and it will list all of the ip's on ur router, when ur ps2 is on it will have another ip there, so just write down the ones that are there before u turn it on and after you turn it on check the list and find the new one and set it to dmz. resopalrabotnick Posted November 10, 2005 CID Share Posted November 10, 2005 you might have to make a list of the other comp/comps on your net by checking their ip because on some routers that list shows a new ip for a device only after the lease for the previous one has expired. also, turning the ps2 off won't neccessarily remove its ip from the list for the same reason, the lease for yp x to mac address y is still active, so it will get the same ip when you turn it on again /and/ the ip won't be deleted from the list in the meantime. wyantm06 Posted November 10, 2005 Author CID Share Posted November 10, 2005 Ok I wrote down the IP's on the list before turning my PS2 on. There was only one. I turned my PS2 on, went online, came down here went under DHCP or whatever and there is still only one there. Same as the one I wrote down. Does it share the same IP then? resopalrabotnick Posted November 10, 2005 CID Share Posted November 10, 2005 ok, was the ip 192.168.x.x or something completely different? (if it was don't post it, i'm asking because it might be your public ip you wrote down.)
wyantm06 Posted November 10, 2005 Author CID Share Posted November 10, 2005 It was a 192 one...
resopalrabotnick Posted November 10, 2005 CID Share Posted November 10, 2005 hm, does the ps2 only aquire an ip when it is actually using the wan connection? try connecting to a game and see if that makes a difference in the list. because for both your comp and the ps2 to have the same ip is possible, but your pc's os should be screaming bloody murder in that case. pitbull481 Posted November 18, 2005 CID Share Posted November 18, 2005 if you still dont know how to get your ps2 ip here is another way: this is for linksys wrt54gs: 1. have your ps2 offline 2. enter router setup (192.168.1.1) (enter username and password) 3. click on Status 4. click on Local Network 5. click on DHCP Clients Table (check what ip address you got) 6. go online with you ps2 7. click Refresh on DHCP Active IP Table
