I am running a Power Mac dual 2.0 processor with OSX Tiger (10.4.3) with an ADSL modem. My download average is about 1 mbps and upload is averaging about 415 kbps. My isp says I have 1.5 down and 512k up Max. I can live with 415 up but would like to get my download speed up to about 1.3 mbps. Sometimes, I can get 1.25 mbps download but would like to get my (average...1 mbps) upload average to about 1.3 mbps down. Anybody else out there using Mac computer running tiger? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

I usually use a power mac DP, with OSX 10.4, my usual downloads speed is bout 3.2 Mb with a 270Kb upload, the same connection makes a lot better in windows bout  4.5Mb down. and 440 kb up, my conecction is adelphia 4Mb/384

check out this http://www.versiontracker.com/macosx/ its the bestplace to get anything for a mac its the place i use. on my mac ive never had to tweak my settings i aways got very fast speeds. and what browser are you using to run the download tests. Becasue if your using safari its just a slow browser

sorry, no idea how to tweak a mac, but i would say for specific apps mac is definitely better than windoze.
