fikester Posted December 2, 2005 CID Share Posted December 2, 2005 Just installed my DW7000....at the moment during peak hours I am getting 500/100up with the pro account.(Dynamic IP address) Hopefully speeds will improve? Last couple of days with the 6000 I would be around 200/15up at this time.
jonnydabney Posted December 28, 2005 CID Share Posted December 28, 2005 I have a DW6000, was wanting to know if the DW7000 would be a lot of improvement over the DW6000, or not much? just thinking of upgrading if it a lot better. in the mornings I am running about 12 faster than dial-up, evenings running 4 or 5 faster than dial-up, is this normal for most DW customers? fikester Posted December 28, 2005 CID Share Posted December 28, 2005 uploads speed will improve......downloads will be about the same (some people are having issues like my self during peak hours), others are not having problems and getting decent speeds around the clock? if your not in need for the higher uploads, no need to jump on it. Dway speeds seem to depend on which sat your pointed at, number of people using, frequecny, rate code, weather, as well as account type to say the least. As you can see my results slow down as the evening begins EST ....best speeds for me 1200/
ghostmaster Posted December 28, 2005 CID Share Posted December 28, 2005 There is another Software update coming the is "suppose" to fix the rest of the sporadic speed problems....give it a few days and hopefully things will improve for you.. the current firmware for most people should be
Bird Fan Posted December 28, 2005 CID Share Posted December 28, 2005 Wow, the 1024 4/5 rate code? There's got to be a problem there... Anyway, as for the upgrade, what sattelite/transponder are you on? If you're on the SatMex 5 I wouldn't upgrade just yet, they're having a number of problems with that sat. To find your sat, type http://192.168.0.1 in your browser and navigate to system info and paste whats on there, on here.
