agustaf4 Posted December 10, 2005 CID Share Posted December 10, 2005 For some reason my speed tests here show a 7 megabit connection max even though Im on the cox 9 megabit plan. But when Im downloading I definetly get over 9 megabits in speed, in the range of 1100-1200 kylobytes download. Theres something happening with the test here where its always a 7 megabit result in download speed. I know im getting what im paying for cause i get above 9 megabits on downloads, but here the test is always a 7 megabit max consistent. I got the latest motorola modem with a linksys wrt54g Any body else having this issue :::.. just- Posted December 10, 2005 CID Share Posted December 10, 2005 agustaf4 are you getting a constant download or a initial burts of 1100 kb/s ?
agustaf4 Posted December 10, 2005 Author CID Share Posted December 10, 2005 a constant download, the burst is in the 3000 and up kylobyte range then it settles down in between 1100-1200. I just plugged the modem straight to the pc bypassing the linksys and not much of a difference around 200k at most.

agustaf4 Posted January 9, 2006 Author CID Share Posted January 9, 2006 OS is XP, i had a wrt54g replaced it with an older version which runs of the linux firmware. This one according to the serial number was the newer ones that run of vxworks. luckily walmart had a batch of the older version ones .
