REV0LUTI0NIZED Posted December 18, 2005 CID Share Posted December 18, 2005 How can I have my D-Link router and my Linksys router connected at the same time? Do I need a Crossover cable to make them both work.
richcornucopia Posted December 18, 2005 CID Share Posted December 18, 2005 You can only have one use dchp, dchp is what assigns the ip addresses to your network. (192.168...)

richcornucopia Posted December 18, 2005 CID Share Posted December 18, 2005 Is one of them wireless and one wired. Because then I think you could have the wired function as the dchp router and the wireless on as an acess point.
dlewis23 Posted December 18, 2005 CID Share Posted December 18, 2005 REV0LUTI0NIZED do this its what i have done to get a netgear router and a linksys router to work togeather, take a regular eathernet cable and plug it into port 4 on your first router say it the dlink then plug the other end into the wan on the linksys router, that's it the linksys wll get a ip from the dlink and will be able to get internet on it and transfer files back in forth from both routers with no problem. I did that, it connects but for some reason it won't let me surf websites.
richcornucopia Posted December 18, 2005 CID Share Posted December 18, 2005 Try to connect it to one of the lan ports instead of the wan. So router 1 lan to router 2 lan.
REV0LUTI0NIZED Posted December 18, 2005 Author CID Share Posted December 18, 2005 So I connect lan 4 from my first router to lan 1 from my second router and lan 2 to a comp.
