cdf216 Posted December 22, 2005 CID Share Posted December 22, 2005 Really stupid question, but after making the changes in the BIOS were you sure to hit F10 and save them then restart the computer?
amc11890 Posted December 22, 2005 Author CID Share Posted December 22, 2005 I dint make any changes in the bios everything is blocked by the manufacturer all i changed was the jumper settings
cdf216 Posted December 22, 2005 CID Share Posted December 22, 2005 The BIOS can't be blocked. What probably happened is there was a BIOS password accidentally set. To fix this put a jumper across the jumpers for clearing the password. you can find it in this diagram: Make sure the computer is OFF and unplugged when you do so. amc11890 Posted December 22, 2005 Author CID Share Posted December 22, 2005 No i mean the bios is not blocked but the option to change the fsb amd multipier and so forth is blocked.
resopalrabotnick Posted December 22, 2005 CID Share Posted December 22, 2005 mrrm. all i can think of is to go through the bios hunting for things like safe defaults, steeings auto/manual, things like that. something that lets you switch between autodetected settings and manual settings, where the manual settings unblock the fsb. kind of like auto/manual settings for ram timing. dlewis23 Posted December 22, 2005 CID Share Posted December 22, 2005 No i mean the bios is not blocked but the option to change the fsb amd multipier and so forth is blocked. when i had a fic mobo the multipler was blocked also, but there is another option below that i for get what it is called but it has number sets in it that look like this 66/33/200mhz it may be a little different and the #'s are different. but when you find that move it up till you get the correct clock speed. cdf216 Posted December 22, 2005 CID Share Posted December 22, 2005 also on the same page as the CPU clock settings should be DRAM Timing settings, you have to set that to manual for it to allow you to change CPU clock settings.

Have you actually tried adjusting any of them despite the warnings?

resopalrabotnick Posted December 23, 2005 CID Share Posted December 23, 2005 if you move the cursor onto the clockspeed setting, what does the item help say? and post a picture of the other setup pages as well. also, reset the admin and user passwords. just hit return on an empty mask, that should disable them.
