weird thing is that I noticed downstream are boosting in my laptop, but not on my desktop. why can't they just boost speed 24/7, it pretty pointless if you ask me...

speed test are not 100% accurate, don't depend on them too much.... you might want to try different server from testmy.net to see if improves.

that's even worst from me, I feel your pain but at least your online. as for me I was offline for entire week. call comcrap ASAP

cuz, ur isp can track what you dl via bittorrent. since ur ip address is visible.

true.... since im korean i know.... ppl download 700mb for only couple of seconds. why can't we get those here

update.... just got my bill couple days ago, and comcast has gave me credit for full month. and 19.99 for next 6 mo. now I back online, but it's still little crappy. up and down, not consistent.... but, at least im back online.....

after 7 days, I called Comcast again.... after all the talking........................................... ................................. he told me that SBV5120 is not supported

Sup All... I have no connection to internet, and it's been freaking 5 days now, and they have not fix the problem yet. 5 days ealier, I called and replaced the modem, which I brought (SBV5120). After that no connection, they say it's error in the account, which does not allow them to add this modem to my account, have to fix in the database or something... They first told me min. 48 hrs to max 72 hrs. then they say wait another 48 hrs and they credit my account for whole month...then today I called, they don't know exactly when it will be fixed... so I said nicely, can it be fix by this week? oh yea...definitely by this week, but don't know exactly, someone will definitely call you when it's ready. I never thought changing the modem, could be this difficult. man....anyone had this problem also?

Thanks for the reply, I been renting all these years....I do have same model in stock, but I didn't bother to call.... This modem I had for almost 5 years now....Motorola SB3100 I believe it's the modem causing this slow down, and not getting the upgrades.... Right now, my connection got little better, averaging downstream about 2-3 Mbps....not getting any close to 6 Mbps.

I just hate comcast I lived in MD area, and I saw that MD area got all upgrades..... Past couple weeks, my internet speed goes slower....and s...l..o...w....e...r I am only getting average of 1.2 Mbps. So I called comcast, saying what's up with my connection.... They talk trash couple minutes....did you unplug ur modem, restart ur computer, unplug cable from the wall.... what do they thinking.....I am comp. sci. major for godsake. LOL Then....he checked and said....yes your connection seems slow.....huh seems slow?? dude look at my speed, I should get 6 Mbps, and I am not even getting 4Mbps.... He said....he will send someone over....next tuesday....huh? I have to wait that long??? talk about service. I know monday is labor day and all that but Tuesday? I heard they even come in sundays.... oh...I remember....last time someone came over,.....he checked my computer....opened up dos prompt...type ping...trace...LOL oh....your connections seems fine.....then I showed him the testmy.net speed connection history....then he says....oh...one of the server went down....and that' might causing it....huh?? then he left....what was point of him coming here for?? he just wasted my time being there. Just hope this things goes well on next tuesday
