76 for me. They were the first ones in Cali to not use MTBE in their gas....so I jumped on and never looked back.

new comcast speed
pacmantravis replied to rhapsodyfan's topic in XFINITY (Comcast Cable Communications)
I wanna know this too...are they changing the file names or just the values? -
Not to be picky, but if you're paying for 30Mbps, you should be getting 30Mbps..not 25Mbps. The 30/5 plan isnt cheap. Try downloading from adobe.com Thats where I get my astest speeds. You should see around 3.5-.3.75MB/s speeds. If you dont see those speeds try tweaking and you may go even FASTER!

Well, she's paying for DSL Pro, which I assume the "average" customer doesnt have. I was just making sure that 2.5dn on a 3dn plan was a decent speed.
-
Ah, I thought it was 768. Well, its better than paying twice as much to go just as fast w/Adelphia.

Im on my GF's computer right now, and she has SBC Yahoo DSL. It's DSL Pro (3/768). Ive tried CableNuts, TCP Optimizer and several other reg tweak programs and this is the fastest I can get: :::.. Any advice or suggestions? I know its "close" to the limits, but Im just trying to get her as much as I can. Thanks.

You might not need nero. If you use DVD Shrink to make an ISO image, you "should" be able to burn it in DVD Decrypter w/o Nero.

Current Comcast Customers
pacmantravis replied to 6arett's topic in XFINITY (Comcast Cable Communications)
Im liking it just fine. Theyre basic plan is faster than verizon. More expensive tho. However I always get advertised speeds. Even tho they say 4Mbs down, its really 4.4. They dont tell you because you most likely wont see that extra .4 (overhead) -
Im having the same problem with the same exact router. I think the only way might be to upgrade to a 3rd party firmware. HyperWRT or the one by Sveasoft I think. I dont wanna change firmware though as the latest version of the official linksys firmware (4.0.0.7 I think) is the only one that fixes my problem with Large wireless transfers timing out. Any suggestions?

Hey there, I tried using cablenuts, however since I couldnt find settings that mathced my connection I used "custom ones" from a site that I found on here (i forgot the name as I just woke up). My speeds actually dropped to around 9500kbs so I removed the tweaks. Im pretty sure its my own fault though. No biggie. Thanks for the warm welcome. -

I was on the old attbi network. At that time I was paying $79 for an 7 or 8mb plan, I dont remember which. When Comcast took over the speeds went up. Im still paying $79 (plus $3 modem lease). I dont think there are many people with Cable internet around here, so maybe they have it because they figure they have enough bandwidth? Either way, Im not complaining. -
