Well, a week ago, Comcast announced that all current 4 Mbps customers will be at 6 Mbps, and upload would be the same. All 6 Mbps customers will be raised to 8 Mbps. I believe this is what's taking place. But, if thats true, I should be at the 6 Mbps package right now, but according to the speed tests, i'm only half way there.

Yeah... Finally LMAO i spent like 2 hrs on the phone with the tech ppl trying to get it figured out... Basically all they said was that I just had to re-register my modem and that they would send out a new bootfile for the modem...

On the phone with a tech right now he said it doesnt look like the modem upgraded itself so he is going to see what he can do. It has only been going on for about 2 or 3 days, so its not really a big deal, and I have my neighborhood rep coming out tomorrow with a surfboard modem so I can get rid of this pos RCA modem.

pitbull lies again, well i wouldnt say lies
there is a program that you can download and run and it will register your modem for you.. however it installs some Comcast help program or something but thats easily removeable via the add remove programs menu...
Let me see if i can find the link again..
Ok just talked to Comcast basically what you have to do is whenever you get your new modem connect it directly to your computer and then open IE or Firefox or whatever browser you use.. Click on the link that appears on the page, and it should download a file.. Run that file and then you can do your registration via that program..
