  1. CA3LE you ROCK! looks sharp, very fitting thanxz River~
  2. 100/full duplex that wasx JUNK! back to 100/half
  3. used gpedit, and also unchecked in network connections. will test the 100/full in a second
  4. i run cable modem only, ran three sets of tests, testing up and down, with link/duplex set on "auto" another at 100/half, and another at 10/half, with QoS disabled. here's earlier scores with QoS enabled/auto detect down: 3844/469 up
  5. VB, first of all, many thanks for taking the time, and I'm always happy, but a tweaker is never satisfied question if I may? pros and cons about the QoS packet scheduler tweak, i have it tweaked, as well as Link Speed & Duplex set to Auto Detect. have tried with tweaks on and off, seem to increase through put some. your feelings? again, many thanxz River~

  7. ok, reported last week about my comcast upgrade, 4000/384, and posted great scores with all default settings, as they beat any of the ccs tweak settings in cablenut. scores are posted in previous post of mine, "Comcast Rockin". since then i have, as I always do tweaked around with settings, knowing i could always go back to the default, as well as saving my own custom settings in cablenut. i could get a high score now and then with cablenut settings but not consistently close to being the same. i also unloaded cablenut and tried tcp optimizer, but it too couldn't come close to the default scores. the other day i put the settings all back to default and now these scores are lower, close to the best scores i can get with default settings. so i'm thinking that when the upgrade came out comcast delivered more than the upgrade, or some how i was just getting more than advertised at 4000/384, and now they have it back down to what was advertised? I don't know, just trying to figure it out? VB, here's some scores from just a little while ago, plus the report from nitro, maybe you see some thing that might help, even though i know that i am getting the 90% of download, and close with upload, which doesn't concern me all that much, at least not now. :::.. 8. SpeedyX5, am also comcast user, would you care to post upload speeds and share your settings, i'd love to tweak with it. thanxz River~
  9. yea, i know that, but both test places report upload scores as KB/s, not Kb? edit: My "bad" i read it wrong at dsl reports, sorry bout that, but anyway, is my upload speed way slow for comcast, as i said before, never really paid much attention to it, never tested it and when it was a combo upload/download test i never really looked at and paid attention to the upload scores, till now. is i slowwwww ???
  10. OK, what's going on???? here my upload test scores 40KB/s then i go to DSLreports and test, and my upload score is 401.3KB/s. what's that all about ????
  11. Microwave, i like Comcast, but before that only a 56k, so anything would be better than what i had!
  12. thanxz guys, but not new here, and to answer VB's questions, first here's upload test :::.. 15. I just finished deleting all cable tweak programs, defraged the drive, and did some other clean up, and after I was done I decided to try one more manual tweak of the registry. I added DWord TCPWindowSize 62240 and TCP1323Opts at 0 and gained a few more points on the download connection and speed of downloads without reducing the upload. latest score is: download connection 3079kbps download speed 379KB/s ran the download test 12 times in a row, first without dumping temps, cookies, etc., then another 12 times after dumping and rebooting. every single test score was the same within 2 points. upload same as prior scores connection 238kbps upload speed 29KB/s am sticking with this...............till the next tweak goes higher River~
  16. thanxz, this is stock winxp settings, with Comcast, and as you know they upped to 3000/256, and waiting for them to open up the pipes on the upload speeds. tried the program tweaks and manual registry tweaks, but nothing is as stable as the default settings so far. could massage a little more out of download but then upload drops a little and then they don't test as consistently score wise. later River~
